About The Position
This role is responsible for safely and courteously transporting patients between nursing units, diagnostic areas, and other departments. The Transport Tech will operate designated patient transport elevators to ensure efficiency and comfort, treating every patient and guest with dignity, empathy, and respect. This position also involves clear communication with dispatchers, collaboration with various hospital personnel, and proactive reporting of any issues or concerns. Prioritizing patient, visitor, and coworker safety is paramount, as is the safe and correct use of transport equipment. The role requires delivering timely and reliable patient transport while meeting productivity expectations, attending required trainings, and adhering to all departmental and hospital policies. Maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and protecting patient and guest privacy are essential.

Responsibilities
- Safely and courteously transport patients between nursing units, diagnostic areas, and other departments
- Operate designated patient transport elevators to ensure efficiency and comfort
- Treat every patient and guest with dignity, empathy, and respect
- Communicate all stages of patient transport clearly with the dispatcher
- Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, ancillary departments, and medical center personnel
- Proactively report delays, barriers, or service issues and escalate patient‑experience concerns when needed
- Prioritize patient, visitor, and coworker safety at all times
- Use transport equipment safely and correctly
- Immediately report unsafe equipment or practices to leadership
- Deliver timely, reliable patient transport while meeting productivity expectations
- Attend required trainings, in‑services, and staff meetings
- Follow all departmental and hospital policies and procedures
- Take initiative to support continuous improvement across departments
- Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
- Protect patient and guest privacy during all interactions and transports
