Amentum is currently seeking for a Transportation Heavy Equipment Operator to support a government contract based in Jacksonville, Florida at Mayport.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum five (5) years experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
  • Training for Crane Operators as required by NAVFAC P-307.
  • Certified (or qualified) Crane Operator in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.1427(b) or (c).
  • NCCCO Certified Crane Operator and Cat 1 Navy Crane License
  • Rigger Certification
  • Class A Commercial Driver License
  • Forklift Operator License
  • Aerial Work Platform Operator License
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

Responsibilities

  • Operates a variety of material-moving equipment daily according to schedule and instructions from the supervisor, which include choosing and setting up the right crane, lift or hoist to complete each task safely and efficiently.
  • Inspects machines and equipment daily, performs routine maintenance procedures and minor repairs as required and initiates additional repair requests from mechanics when necessary.
  • Completes and submits the "Operator's Daily Check List" to the supervisor.
  • Control cranes, lifts and other equipment using standard operating procedures to ensure effective transportation of materials and safety for all personnel on site.
  • Maintains visual and / or radio contact with riggers according to best practices and site safety regulations and responds to questions and instructions clearly and quickly.
  • Provides additional support to other crane operators as necessary, including working overtime to complete tasks or operating several types of equipment.
