About The Position

Inova Center for Personalized Health is looking for a dedicated Transport Dispatcher to join the Transfer Center team. This role will be full time; day/night shift; Monday – Friday, rotating weekends from 6am - 6.30pm OR 6pm - 6.30am. Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED
• One year of EMS Dispatch/Transfer Center/Healthcare experience/EMT or higher certification

Responsibilities

• Answers, screens, and directs calls for general or emergency ground transportation.
• Enters transportation requests into brokerage software and tracks in progress transports for timely ETA’s and re-broker as needed.
• Schedules pre-arranged pickup and drop-off while determining the appropriate level of care needed for the patient.
• Arranges specialty and critical care transportation. Communicates with multiple departments and EMS personnel.
• Communicates with nursing teams to inform of changes in ETAs or prioritization of requested transports.
• Assists with prioritization of transport requests to ensure timely transports of patients with interventional needs.
• Assists with coordination of critical care transfers and transport requests in partnership with Inova’s specialty teams.
• Recognizes and assists with escalations of transport inquiries and challenges to appropriate vendor resources.
• May perform additional duties as assigned
