About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian for the Kidney Transplant Program at University Hospital at Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. The Transplant Dietitian will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to guide and support patients across the continuum of the transplant experience. This role involves providing exceptional nutrition care to patients throughout all stages of their transplant experience, offering individualized counseling to patients prior to, and for at least one year after, their transplant. The dietitian will collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare team members, participate in quality improvement projects, support inpatient nutrition services as needed, and function as a preceptor for the dietetic internship program. Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian credentials and CDN in New York.
  • Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice.
  • Minimum 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact with a wide variety of individuals and groups.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight in collaboration with physicians, nursing and ancillary staff.
  • Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) OR For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24: Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
