About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian for the Kidney Transplant Program at University Hospital at Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. The Transplant Dietitian will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to guide and support patients across the continuum of the transplant experience. Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian credentials and CDN in New York.
  • Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact with a wide variety of individuals and groups.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight in collaboration with physicians, nursing and ancillary staff.
  • 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional nutrition care to patients throughout all stages of their transplant experience.
  • Offer individualized counseling to patients prior to, and for at least one year after, their transplant.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare team members/departments.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects.
  • Support inpatient nutrition services as needed.
  • Function as a preceptor in support of the dietetic internship program.
