Transplant Coordinator (FT-Day, 40hrs/week) - Liver Transplant - Center City

About The Position
This role is responsible for evaluating potential liver transplant recipients. The Transplant Coordinator will work with the transplant team and referring physician to activate and follow patients on the waiting list, maintain MELD scores for waitlisted patients, and admit potential transplant recipients and donors into the hospital for transplant. The position also involves participating in cross-training to develop skills and knowledge necessary for the management of post-transplant recipients and assisting in the operation of pre-transplant evaluation clinic hours.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Registered Nurse
- Minimum of three years experience with hepatic and/or transplant patients
- Strong communications and writing skills
- Proficiency with computer applications
Responsibilities
- Evaluate potential liver transplant recipients
- Activate and follow patients on the transplant waiting list
- Maintain MELD score for waitlisted patients
- Participate in transplant clinic
- Participate in the on-call rotation
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.
