About The Position

The Transplant Coordinator plays a vital role in conducting all tasks related to referral coordination and eligibility of donated tissue that enhances and improves lives globally. This team member is a steward for each donor’s Gift by ensuring standardized operational practices are effectively executed at the local level and by seeking continual improvement opportunities to maximize the value of the Gift. Specific responsibilities include review of all relevant and required donor records to determine donor eligibility for transplant, research and education, or destruction in accordance with the EBAA Medical Standards, FDA applicable regulations and the CorneaGen policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in life science or an equivalent combination of education and highly relevant experience required.
  • Previous work experience demonstrates that you can collaborate with others on a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Can communicate effectively (written, verbal, etc.) within a professional work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting all tasks related to referral coordination and eligibility of donated tissue.
  • Ensuring standardized operational practices are effectively executed at the local level.
  • Seeking continual improvement opportunities to maximize the value of the Gift.
  • Review of all relevant and required donor records to determine donor eligibility for transplant, research and education, or destruction in accordance with the EBAA Medical Standards, FDA applicable regulations and the CorneaGen policies and procedures.
  • Participates in on-call responsibilities related to referral screening and authorization.
