About The Position

Town East Ford is seeking an experienced, Ford Certified Transmission Technician to join its growing service department. The role is for a highly skilled, motivated technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, accurate diagnostics, and efficient repairs. The technician will diagnose, repair, and overhaul Ford automatic and manual transmissions, including advanced transmission and drivability concerns, in a high-volume Ford service department. The technician will use Ford-approved diagnostic equipment, software, technical resources, and Workshop Manual procedures to perform repairs and document work in accordance with dealership standards and Ford Motor Company guidelines. The role works closely with service advisors, dispatch, and management to support timely repairs, and requires maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area while staying current with Ford training, certifications, and emerging transmission technologies.

Requirements

• Ford Transmission Certification.
• Strong knowledge of Ford 6R80, 6F35, 10R80, and other Ford transmission systems.
• Experience with transmission teardown, internal component replacement, and complete rebuilds.
• Proficiency using Ford IDS, FDRS, and other diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical transmission issues.
• Strong understanding of Ford warranty repair procedures and documentation requirements.
• Ability to work independently, manage repair time efficiently, and consistently produce quality work.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Ford dealership transmission repair experience is strongly preferred.
• Ford Senior Master Technician certification.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Ford automatic and manual transmissions, including 6-speed and 10-speed transmissions.
• Perform transmission overhauls, internal repairs, component replacements, and complete transmission assembly replacements.
• Diagnose complex transmission, electrical, hydraulic, and drivability concerns using Ford-approved diagnostic equipment.
• Use Ford diagnostic software, including FDRS and IDS, to identify vehicle concerns.
• Perform transmission-related TSB, recall, and warranty repairs in accordance with Ford Motor Company guidelines.
• Accurately document diagnostic findings, repair procedures, and completed work.
• Follow Ford Workshop Manual procedures and dealership repair standards.
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
• Work with service advisors, dispatch, and management to ensure timely vehicle repairs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Stay current with Ford technical training, certifications, and emerging transmission technologies.
