The ideal candidate has strong diagnostic skills, experience with transmission repair and replacement, and takes pride in performing quality repairs correctly the first time. Requirements

  • Previous professional automotive technician experience with a strong background in transmission and drivetrain repair.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to accurately diagnose complex mechanical and electrical concerns.
  • Ability to use scan tools and electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong understanding of modern vehicle transmission systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical information.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Professional attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a team player.
  • Commitment to quality repairs and customer satisfaction.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Ford vehicles, Ford diagnostic equipment, and Ford factory service procedures is strongly preferred but not required for the right candidate.
  • Ford-certified technicians and technicians with manufacturer-specific transmission certifications are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair automatic and manual transmission concerns.
  • Perform transmission removal and replacement.
  • Diagnose drivability, shifting, noise, vibration, and performance concerns.
  • Perform transmission rebuilds and internal repairs when applicable.
  • Diagnose electrical and electronic transmission systems.
  • Use factory diagnostic equipment, scan tools, service information, and other diagnostic resources.
  • Perform related drivetrain repairs, including transfer cases, differentials, axles, and other components as needed.
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure repairs are completed properly.
  • Follow manufacturer repair procedures and dealership standards.
  • Properly document diagnostic findings, repairs, and parts used.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with Service Advisors and the Service Department regarding vehicle concerns and repair recommendations.
  • Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining a high level of quality and customer satisfaction.
