Requirements

  • Transmission certification or equivalent hands-on experience (Ford experience preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience diagnosing and repairing transmission systems in fleet or commercial vehicles
  • Strong knowledge of automatic and manual transmissions, drivetrain systems, and related components
  • Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience performing transmission rebuilds and major repairs
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, scan tools, and repair software
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced fleet/service environment
  • Commitment to safety standards and dealership procedures
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • A clean driving record
  • Be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain automatic and manual transmission systems for fleet and commercial vehicles
  • Perform transmission rebuilds, replacements, and component-level repairs
  • Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance on drivetrain and transmission systems
  • Troubleshoot drivability issues related to transmissions, torque converters, and related systems
  • Perform diagnostic testing using scan tools and specialized equipment
  • Complete all repairs in accordance with manufacturer standards and dealership procedures
  • Accurately document diagnostics, repairs, and recommended services
  • Communicate clearly with service advisors and fleet managers regarding repair status and timelines
  • Ensure timely turnaround of vehicles while maintaining high-quality workmanship
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow all dealership safety policies and procedures
