About The Position

Xcel Energy is hiring a Transmission Line Engineer at the Senior or Principal level. The role applies extensive technical expertise in transmission line engineering and construction, leading new transmission line projects and carrying out complex assignments that may require developing improved techniques and procedures. The engineer applies existing codes and standards to develop standards and project specifications and serves as the prime technical contact on projects, coordinating significant technical matters with internal and external organizations. Work is largely self-directed, with considerable latitude in determining technical objectives. The role may direct engineers, technicians, craft personnel, and administrative staff, and is responsible for multiple moderate-to-large projects or portions of major projects. An on-call rotation is required. The job description reflects the Senior Engineer role; the selected candidate will be placed at a level commensurate with skills and experience. Requirements differ between the Senior and Principal levels. Xcel Energy supports a hybrid work model, and many roles are expected to work onsite three days per week, Tuesday through Thursday, although expectations vary by role, team, and business needs.
