About The Position

This role involves resolving problems of moderate scope using standard solutions, independently planning work under general direction with periodic reviews for technical accuracy, and performing functions of an Associate level Engineer as needed. The engineer will provide technical expertise, conduct engineering analyses, studies, and develop conceptual designs. Responsibilities include presenting findings to internal teams, contractors, and vendors, conducting walkdowns and design review meetings, and preparing technical documents such as design criteria, scope documents, specifications, and reports. The position also entails developing, evaluating, and recommending alternative project proposals, soliciting, preparing, and evaluating contracts and proposals from engineering consultants, and reviewing consultant contracts for technical compliance. Additionally, the role requires interpreting and applying applicable codes and regulations, participating in developing restoration plans, assisting in root cause analysis, approving reports, new drawings, and revisions to existing drawings, and responding promptly to facility failures in emergencies. The engineer will also represent the organization to government bodies for assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited US curriculum or equivalent from outside the US.
  • 3+ years of cumulative experience in engineering and design.
  • Ability to travel to and from project-related functions approximately 20% of the time.
  • Strong familiarity with GO 95, NESC, and industry transmission line standards and construction practices.
  • Strong familiarity with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and related software.
  • Skills in project management.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in applying engineering principles.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in electrical transmission line engineering for 115kv–500kv.
