VHB is looking to add a designer/engineer with distribution and/or transmission line design experience to join our growing Energy Engineering practice. The position would be part of an integrated team supporting substation, distribution line, sub-transmission line, and transmission line project design, permitting, access, and construction support. The position can be based anywhere in VHB’s footprint and be within a reasonable driving distance to one of our offices to engage in our hybrid work environment.
Requirements
- B.S. in Civil/Structural/Electrical Engineering with a concentration in structures/power preferred
- 3+ years preferred of experience within the utilities industry
- Experience with GIS Systems, PLS-CADD, Asset Management systems, and Microsoft Office products.
Nice To Haves
- EIT certification preferred
- Familiar with the NESC a plus
Responsibilities
- Support electric distribution/sub-transmission/transmission upgrade and refurbishment projects.
- Compile, review, and assess engineering archives, vendor drawings, and equipment specifications.
- Design/Assess overhead lines, wood, concrete, tapered tubular steel, hybrid structures, and deep foundations.
- Prepare bill of materials, structure work lists, minor design packages, major design packages, staking diagrams, plan and profile drawings, design specifications.
- Prepare written technical reports and oral presentations documenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
