About The Position

As a Transmission Inspector, you carry considerable responsibility. You are the coordinator and play a major role in the team to provide high-quality parts and subassemblies to our production lines and builders. This is key and very important in the remanufacturing process of transmissions and to all our customers. Your day will be spent constructing and laying out builder trays, thoroughly inspecting parts to quality standards, cleaning and assembling components of a transmission for production following our process & procedures. You must work efficiently, interact and help other team members to ensure daily demands are met and processes run smoothly on the production line.

Requirements

  • Ability to properly take and read various gages and dimensions, able to follow oral and written instructions
  • Must be 18 years old
  • Ability to bend, twist, pull & push
  • Willingness and understanding you will get dirty at times, and may have to work with chemicals
  • Skill of working with your hands, multiple types of tools, fixtures, gages and other instruments
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand & work on your feet for 8+ hours a day and under pressure at times
  • Have a Can-Do Attitude, with good time management, communication and decision-making skills
  • Self-starting and motivation; believe in teamwork and uphold the ability to always help others
  • Adhere to all safety rules, give it your all every day, must have regular, reliable and predictable attendance

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical background, past machine shop and automotive parts experience preferred
  • High school diploma preferred
  • Detail oriented

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly inspect parts, assemble builder trays, maintain one piece flow in order not to mix job numbers
  • Process at minimum 2 units/trays per hour and assist others when caught up with one’s own work
  • Ensure all parts are clean, free from dirt & grime and are in good useable condition for production
  • Read and follow detailed assembly work instructions, process & procedures and keep an even work flow
  • Verify & perform quality checks to ensure all parts and assemblies are correct for the given unit being built
  • Monitor and utilize computer system, level units up, assign trays to builders and scan serial numbers for job
  • Follow and use VKS on every unit to verify that the unit is built correctly and to ETE Reman’s standards
  • Keep work area clean of loose debris and dirt, sweep and mop job area throughout the day
  • Suggest improvements, help train new personnel, communicate all issues, work overtime when needed
  • Follow directions from team leads, supervisors and managers, be proactive and helpful
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment, be at your workstation on time daily
