About The Position

Kimley-Horn's Phoenix, AZ office is seeking a Transmission Line Engineering Analyst with 2+ years of relevant experience to join their diverse and fast-paced organization. This role involves the design of high and extra-high voltage (69-500kV) transmission lines using PLS-CADD, preparing construction documents, specifications, and project design criteria, and providing field support during construction. The ideal candidate will also build and maintain strong client relationships and provide technical leadership to less experienced staff. Occasional travel to client and project locations is expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Or Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • 2+ years related transmission line design experience.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in scheduling and budgeting.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering may be substituted for 1 year experience.
  • Consulting or utility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design of high and extra-high voltage (69-500kV) transmission lines using PLS-CADD.
  • Prepare construction documents including plan and profile drawings, structure loading trees, and foundation assembly drawings.
  • Prepare specifications and project design criteria.
  • Provide field support during construction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members.
  • Occasional travel to client and project locations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
