About The Position

Think Power Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Transmission Construction Representative to oversee contractor performance and ensure compliance with contract terms for construction projects on the owner's electric transmission system. The role ensures that work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with design specifications across projects ranging from upgrades to new substation construction. The representative independently applies expert knowledge of line, substation, and civil construction requirements, interprets engineering drawings, and provides construction guidance. The role also identifies and helps resolve project issues, ensures compliance with owner construction standards and safety terms, and mentors lower-level Transmission Construction Representatives. The position may involve working more than 40 hours per week, travel, rough terrain, and inclement weather.

Requirements

At least 6 years of relevant transmission line and substation work experience.
Proficiency using a computer, iPad, and Microsoft Office products.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Valid driver's license.
Must currently be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree in construction management or engineering.
Experience working in the utility industry.
Compliance management experience.

Responsibilities

Ensure contractors adhere to all contract requirements while working on the electric transmission system.
Monitor safe completion of work and ensure alignment with design specifications and safety standards.
Manage projects that include substation upgrades and new substation construction.
Identify potential issues affecting project success, including design flaws, material shortages, contractor performance, access challenges, and customer concerns.
Help resolve issues to maintain project timelines, quality, and safety standards.
Apply expert knowledge of line, substation, and civil construction requirements, with a broad understanding of other transmission and distribution areas.
Interpret engineering drawings and provide guidance on their application in construction.
Ensure compliance with owner construction standards and safety terms.
Perform duties independently while demonstrating leadership and expertise.
Mentor and train lower-level Transmission Construction Representatives, sharing best practices and ensuring correct methods and processes are applied.
