About The Position

Cando Rail & Terminals is North America’s leading provider of specialized rail operating services and terminal infrastructure that allow industrial shippers to optimize their supply chains and connect to Class I railways by leveraging Cando’s operating capabilities and network of owned multi-purpose rail terminals. The company provides a wide range of rail services including industrial switching, material handling, terminal & transload services, short line operations, railcar staging, train assembly, and related services. Hourly pay for this opportunity would be $24-26 per hour, dependent on experience. Railcar Loaders / Transload Operators safely load and unload railcars while ensuring compliance with operational, environmental, and safety standards. This role includes operating transloading equipment, handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials, performing inspections, completing documentation, and supporting rail operations as needed.

Requirements

Valid Driver’s License required
Mechanical aptitude and strong teamwork skills
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Comfortable performing physically demanding work, including climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs., and working at heights
Must meet customer and regulatory safety requirements, including background screening

Nice To Haves

CDL
Transloading experience is a plus
Experience with skid-steers
Industrial or hazardous materials experience considered an asset

Responsibilities

Safely load and unload railcars and transfer products
Operate transloading equipment, pumps, compressors, conveyors, and mobile equipment
Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and minor equipment repairs
Complete operational logs and safety documentation
Follow all company, customer, and regulatory safety procedures
Report safety concerns and equipment issues promptly
Support switching crews and other site operations as required
