About The Position

Nintendo of America is seeking a Translator (Japanese) to provide bilingual Japanese translation support for Nintendo of America, Inc. (NOA) and Nintendo Company Limited (NCL). This role involves translating confidential e-mail and other written documentation between Japanese and English, ensuring accurate and culturally appropriate translations. The position also may involve managing communication tools and databases to improve efficiency and adhering strictly to corporate security policies. Excellent customer service and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, confidential environment are essential. The scope of the job may evolve based on business needs.

Requirements

Two to four years of related experience required.
Two years of translation experience.
Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N2 level in verbal and written communication in Japanese.
Intermediate to high level of proficiency in MS Office applications.
Proficient understanding of Japanese business culture and etiquette.
Excellent verbal/written communication and relationship-building skills, problem-solving and cross-function collaboration.
Multi-tasks under pressure in a fast-paced, highly confidential environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
Working knowledge and skills developed through formal training, licensing/certification or work experience.
Professional training in Japanese translation or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Translates confidential e-mail and other written documentation from Japanese to English, and English to Japanese.
Chooses the equivalent expression in the target language that fully conveys and best matches the meaning intended in the source language.
May manage various communication tools and database and contributes to improve usability and efficiency.
Performs all job responsibilities in strict adherence to corporate prototype security policy and procedures.
Provides excellent customer service to internal and external contacts.
