About The Position

This full-time, day shift Registered Nurse position is in the Operating Room (Ortho) at Texas Health Dallas. The role involves delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, performing OR RN Surgery Circulator duties, assessing, planning, intervening, and evaluating patient care. The nurse will incorporate age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiate actions to meet patient information needs, and maintain continuity of patient care across shifts and facilities. Texas Health Dallas is an 875-bed, Magnet-designated hospital serving the Dallas community since 1966, specializing in various services including cancer care, cardiology, neurosciences, women's services, and emergency medicine. It is a Level I Trauma Center and a Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Care Center.

Requirements

Associate degree Nursing required or Nursing Diploma
1 Year Experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program (Required)
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire (Required upon hire)
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required upon hire)

Nice To Haves

BSN (Preferred)
2-3 years of acute care RN experience (Med-Surg, L&D, ICU or ED) (Strongly Preferred)
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire (Preferred)

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
OR RN Surgery Circulator duties and skills
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
