About The Position

This role is for a Transitional Registered Nurse (RN) in the Float Pool, working Full Time on Nights at Texas Health Plano. The RN will float to multiple departments throughout the hospital. Orientation and clinical classes will take place during normal business day hours, to be determined by Onboarding. The Float Pool RNs will float to multiple departments throughout the hospital. Texas Health Plano is a 386-bed, full-service hospital serving North Texas, specializing in emergency medicine and trauma, cardiology, neurosurgery and spine, advanced orthopedics, women’s services, adult and adolescent behavioral health, an adult intensive care unit, and technologically advanced surgical services. It is a Level II Trauma Facility, the only health care facility in Collin County to have achieved both Level IV NICU and Level IV Maternal facility designation, and has a DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Program. Texas Health Plano is a four-time Magnet-designated hospital, the only AACN Beacon Gold adult intensive care unit in the DFW area, accredited by the Joint Commission in Hip and Knee Replacement and a Primary Heart Attack Center.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma in Nursing required or Associate’s degree in nursing required or Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting required
  • Experienced RN looking to Transition to Acute Care/Telemetry Float Pool preferred
  • RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly upon hire required
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days required
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
