About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery. Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 W. Parker Road, Plano, TX 75093. Work hours: Full Time-Nights (6:45 pm-7:15 pm; Three – 12 Hours Shift) for 36 hrs./week. Self-scheduling, no set schedules and rotating days. Labor & Delivery highlights: 17-LDR’s (Labor/Delivery/Recovery rooms), 4 OR suites, 350-400 deliveries per month on average, Separate Antepartum/High Risk OB department.

Requirements

Associate degree Nursing required or Nursing Diploma
1 Year Experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program (Required)
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire (Required upon hire)
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly (Required)
NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days (Required)
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days (Required)
IFM - Intermediate Fetal Monitoring 6 Months (Required upon hire)
NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days (Required)
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
