The 1.1.2. is a transitional housing initiative for young adults ages 18–24 in Surrey, operating a 30‑bed residence with 24‑hour staffing and support. Residents live in a substance‑free environment and receive individualized, one‑to‑one support focused on building life skills, setting goals, and participating in structured group activities that promote stability and independence. As youth prepare to transition, The 1.1.2. provides housing search and transition planning, moving assistance, landlord advocacy and mediation, and coordination with social workers and other systems partners to support successful moves into safe, stable, and affordable independent housing. Hours & Conditions of Work: Auxiliary (casual) Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Position Summary: The Transitional Housing Worker will provide one-on-one support, life skills and individualized goals as well as group activities such as meetings and unit checks. This position involves developing relationships with youth as well as liaising with professionals such as social workers, school personnel, and community staff. The Workers provide housing search support, moving assistance, landlord advocacy, mediation and liaise with social workers to support youth to find, secure and move in to safe and affordable independent housing. Successful applicants will bring their passion for youth work, experience in housing, and knowledge of supporting diverse youth from many cultural backgrounds.
