About The Position

The Transition to Practice Educator provides continued educational support, training, and mentoring to new nurses in the clinical area. The role supports a smooth transition to practice by providing unit-based support and coordinating the needs and resources of each new nurse through follow-up during and after orientation.

Serving as a clinical liaison between education and clinical managers or coordinators, the educator facilitates timely release from orientation by assessing needs and performance in real time. After identifying needs, the educator coordinates available resources to address targeted knowledge and skill deficits. Addressing each new nurse’s specific needs supports role development and enhances patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Hold a current and valid Registered Nurse license issued by the state.
• Have a current BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain it.
• Have a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience.
• Have a minimum of 1 year of preceptor experience.
