Transition To Practice Educator
About The Position
The Transition to Practice Educator provides continued educational support, training, and mentoring to new nurses in the clinical area. The role supports a smooth transition to practice by providing unit-based support and coordinating each new nurse’s needs and resources through follow-up during and after orientation. The educator serves as a clinical liaison between education and clinical managers/coordinators to facilitate timely release from orientation by assessing needs and performance in real time. Once needs are identified, the educator coordinates available resources to address targeted knowledge and skill deficits. Addressing each new nurse’s specific needs supports role development and contributes to improved patient outcomes. Roxborough Memorial Hospital is a 131-bed community hospital serving the Roxborough, Manayunk, East Falls, and northwest Philadelphia communities. It is a member of Prime Healthcare and has served the community since 1890.
Requirements
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license issued by the state.
- Current BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of preceptor experience.

- BSN preferred.
