About The Position

The Transition Coordinator is responsible for overseeing, expanding, and aligning Bridgeport Adult Education’s comprehensive transition services to ensure all exiting students complete a documented Career Readiness Portfolio aligned to identified career pathways.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in adult education, workforce development, or career services preferred
  • Strong data, organizational, and partnership-building skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Adult Education Transition Plan.
  • Oversee and the Career Development Center.
  • Supervise and support Workforce Developers.
  • Develop and implement career pathways in Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Education.
  • Coordinate job shadowing and internship programs.
  • Facilitate partnerships with workforce boards, American Job Center, employers, and training providers.
  • Facilitate quarterly partner meetings
  • Track and analyze student transition data and prepare quarterly reports.
  • Ensure 90% of exiting students complete a Career Readiness Portfolio, including career pathway identification, goal-setting meetings, CTHires enrollment, digital literacy completion, resume development, and a post-graduation plan.
  • Provide orientation and ongoing support to instructional and counseling staff on transition practices, CCRS/ELPS alignment, UDL, cultural competency, and trauma-informed approaches.
