About The Position

Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Shift Supervisor at DePaul Academy Residential Facility in South Bend Indiana. DePaul Academy serves young men aged 14-18 who have mental health, substance abuse and/or behavioral needs. Utilizing a strengths-based approach, DePaul provides its youth with access to therapeutic services and diverse social and educational opportunities. Through a blend of evidence-based treatment, academic and extracurricular opportunities, young men are provided a normalized setting that foster a culture of learning, growth, and achievement. Requirements

  • Have 3 to 5 years of experience in a residential treatment facility setting (related or equivalent experience may be considered with approval).
  • At minimum you must have a bachelor's degree in social work.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple individuals and projects.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in social work is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a liaison between Rite of Passage and the Placing Agency. Develops and maintains positive relationships with Placing Agency Client Managers, ROP Case Managers, Career Coordinators and all community –based contacts.
  • Maintains regular contact with Placing Agency Client Managers to assist in developing parole plans/services.
  • Develops and maintains positive relations with regional career path employers, high schools and colleges.
  • Assists in organizing quarterly student assemblies targeting educational and employment opportunities.
  • Provides educational guidance to students developing graduation and transition plans, preparing for enrollment into secondary and/or post-secondary programs.
  • Provides students with community resource expertise to ensure an effective re-integration to the community. Assists students in identifying support services in their perspective communities.
  • Provides mentorship and guidance to youth throughout their transition from ROP to the community and monitors youth’s progress in the community. Provides guidance in preparing for employment.
  • Conducts transition activities such as job interviews, school enrollment, obtaining identification, treatment program enrollment, drug testing, and van loops.
  • Conducts weekly face to face contact with students for the first six weeks after exiting the ROP program. Continual student contact on an as needed basis following the first six weeks. Maintains contact and organizes alumni events for ROP graduates.
