About The Position

The Transit Planner supports FXBGO!'s transportation planning by managing projects and activities related to the Transit Strategic Plan. This role involves recommending changes to bus routes and paratransit services to improve punctuality and increase ridership, analyzing service change requests and new bus stop proposals, and assisting in the development of the Transit Strategic Plan. The planner will ensure compliance with regulations like ADA standards, conduct research to support goals for transit-dependent and Title VI populations, and gather and analyze data for scheduling, route design, and service evaluation. Additionally, the role supports communication strategies and outreach related to the Transit Strategic Plan, including preparing reports, presenting recommendations, and creating publication materials.

Requirements

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in transportation planning, urban planning or related field.
  • A minimum of one (1) years of experience performing responsible administrative work, and/or equivalent education and experience.
  • Knowledge of transit operations, management practices, government, applicable federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations affecting public transportation; principles, practices and techniques of transit or urban planning.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite; including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in transit or local government preferred.
  • Experience with ArcGIS, GIS software, and Intelligent Transit Software (ITS) preferred.
  • Experience with Adobe Suites

Responsibilities
