About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of fleet management technologies. The role involves managing telematics systems, GPS tracking, diagnostic software, and other digital tools to improve operational efficiency and ensure compliance within the transportation fleet. A strong background in fleet technology, data analysis, and transportation logistics is required. This is a safety-sensitive position, requiring employees to submit to drug and alcohol tests as a condition of employment in accordance with FTA regulations. MetroLink Tulsa has a Zero Tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol.

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience working with electro-mechanical devices and technical equipment.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in fleet technology, transportation operations, or logistics.
  • Proficiency in fleet telematics, GPS tracking, diagnostic software, fleet CCTV surveillance system, CAD/AVL system.
  • Previous work with fleet maintenance software.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and electronic schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams to assemble and wire electrical components.
  • Strong ability to interpret fleet data, generate reports, and recommend process improvements.
  • Ability to use computers and laptop software in diagnosing vehicle issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with drivers, administration employees, management, and vendors.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Ability to learn quickly and ensure compliance with complex programmatic requirements.
  • Keen attention to details.
  • Experience with fleet management software (e.g., Samsara, Geotab, Verizon Connect, or similar systems).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of safety protocols in assigned work areas and strictly adhere to company and industry safety regulations to ensure a secure work environment.
  • Requires ability to efficiently handle numerous projects and activities at once under high pressure.

  • Ability to perform mild to moderate physical labor as it relates to vehicle transport and maintenance.
  • Ability to work in varying outdoor environmental conditions, including exposure to both hot and cold temperatures, and in un-airconditioned settings.
  • Requires ability to hear telephone and verbal directions given; visually perform essential functions for satisfactory job performance.
  • Ability to view display terminal for extended periods.
  • Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and travel to meetings when necessary.
  • Must be safety conscious and avoid accidents if possible.
  • Must be licensed in the state of Oklahoma.
  • Must have a Class D Operators License.
  • Must have received no moving violations within the last 3 years and have no DUI/DWI convictions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of fleet-related technology, including CAD/AVL, surveillance systems, Real-Time Information Signs, and radio systems.
  • Manage and maintain fleet maintenance software to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Assist in developing bus procurement specifications to align with operational and safety requirements.
  • Conduct on-site factory inspections during bus manufacturing to ensure quality control.
  • Support and oversee vendor warranty programs, ensuring compliance and issue resolution.
  • Evaluate contractor compliance with fleet technology maintenance programs and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare and complete reports, technical documents, and other required documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Identify and implement efficiency improvements to enhance fleet performance and operational effectiveness.
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Test and troubleshoot on-board electronics and technology equipment using precision instruments and computerized diagnostic tools.
  • Occasionally work evenings and weekends as needed to support or implement system requirements, including at least one weekend shift per month.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance to ensure continuity of operations and effective team collaboration.
