About The Position

Lincoln County Transit is seeking a dedicated Transit Driver to join their team. This role is responsible for providing inexpensive and convenient transportation within Lincoln County, serving all major cities and offering specialized transportation for disabled persons and senior citizens. The position operates 20 buses, providing approximately 280,000 rides annually and traveling over 520,000 miles. The specific role is for the Lincoln City Loop route, operating Sunday-Wednesday, and is a 30-hour per week position. The ideal candidate will be customer service-minded, able to operate an 8 to 35 passenger bus safely, courteously, reliably, and efficiently. Requirements

  • High school diploma / GED
  • One year transit or similar driving experience with multiple passengers.
  • Valid Oregon class A or B commercial driver's license with a passenger endorsement.
  • Current DOT medical examiner's certificate.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening.
  • Customer service minded individual.

Responsibilities

  • Operate an 8 to 35 passenger bus in a manner that provides safe, courteous, reliable, and efficient passenger transportation.
  • Provide transportation to every major city within the county, including transportation for disabled persons and senior citizens.
  • Drive the Lincoln City Loop route.
  • Report to the start of the route location or where the bus is stationed.
  • Inspect vehicle.
  • Assist passengers.
  • Maneuver carts, strollers, wheeled mobility devices.
