About The Position

The Mission At Omega Health Services, we believe that access to care starts with a safe ride. We are looking for a dedicated Transit Driver to join our Martinsburg team. You aren’t just driving a vehicle; you are ensuring our patients and staff reach their destinations with dignity, safety, and comfort. Focus: Martinsburg & Surrounding Communities This role is based out of our Martinsburg, West Virginia hub. We are specifically looking for a local expert who is comfortable navigating the unique layout of our city and the surrounding regional routes.

Requirements

  • Strong, functional knowledge of Martinsburg, WV, and the surrounding Berkeley and Jefferson County road networks.
  • Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a Passenger endorsement.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience (healthcare or transit settings preferred).
  • A clean record with no major violations within the last 3 years.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening.
  • Minimum of 18 years old (21+ if interstate transport is required).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience operating passenger buses in a clinical environment.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and emergency roadside procedures.

  • Capable of staying calm and compassionate when working with patients with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Execute scheduled and on-demand transport in a safe, courteous manner, strictly adhering to all traffic laws and Omega safety protocols.
  • Conduct rigorous pre-trip and post-trip inspections (fluids, brakes, tires, safety gear). You’ll be responsible for reporting mechanical needs immediately and maintaining a clean vehicle.
  • Provide hands-on assistance for passengers with mobility challenges, including professional boarding/de-boarding and the expert securing of wheelchairs.
  • Maintain meticulous logs for trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and passenger counts.
