About The Position

Lincoln County Transit is geared to enabling the public with an inexpensive and convenient way of getting around in Lincoln County. We provide transportation to every major city within the county, including transportation for disabled persons and senior citizens. Transit operates 20 buses and provides approximately 280,000 rides per year. Last year, its buses traveled more than 520,000 miles. To continue to serve our public we are looking for dedicated part time drivers to help keep the routes going. We are looking for a part-time Transit Driver who is customer service minded individual and who can operate an 8 to 35 passenger bus in a manner that provides safe, courteous, reliable, and efficient passenger transportation. Requirements

  • High school diploma / GED
  • One year transit or similar driving experience with multiple passengers.
  • Valid Oregon class B commercial driver's license with a passenger endorsement.
  • Current DOT medical examiner's certificate.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening.
  • Physical capability to handle high mobility demands and complex personal interactions.
  • Ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light to heavy work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate to heavy weight (20-50 pounds).
  • Maintain full and complete use of all limbs to operate vehicle controls.

Nice To Haves

  • Current CDL (A OR B) with a passenger endorsement and Medical Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Operate an 8 to 35 passenger bus in a manner that provides safe, courteous, reliable, and efficient passenger transportation.
  • Report to the start of the route location or where the bus is stationed.
  • Assist passengers, including those using wheeled mobility devices.
  • Inspect vehicle.
  • Adjust transit vehicle seats and mirrors to gain necessary line of vision to maneuver vehicle safely.
  • Maneuver approximately 600 pounds (passenger in a wheeled mobility device).
  • Push, pull or maneuver carts, strollers, wheeled mobility devices.
