About The Position

Claystone is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Transfer Station/Recycling Yard Equipment Operator to support daily recycling and transfer station operations. In this role, you will operate heavy equipment, sort and process materials, and help ensure efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible recycling practices.

Requirements

• Experience operating heavy equipment (loaders, shredders etc.)
• Background in recycling, waste management, or industrial work
• Strong understanding of safety practices and procedures
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labour
• Basic communication skills and team mindset

Nice To Haves

• Equipment certifications, WHMIS, or First Aid
• Experience in a yard environment
• Knowledge of recycling/environmental practices

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as loaders, telehandlers, shredders
• Move, sort, and process recyclable materials efficiently
• Inspect and perform basic maintenance on equipment
• Identify and separate materials according to recycling standards
• Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE
• Support a clean, organized, and productive yard environment
• Work closely with team members to meet operational goals
