About The Position

Burrtec is a well-established refuse and recycling collection company serving over fifteen municipalities throughout Southern California and employing over 1500 full-time employees. Burrtec continues to grow through company acquisitions and successful bid proposals. Burrtec is a family-owned company that firmly believes the key element to our success is knowing how important each employee is in the organization. We have the following position at our Agua Mansa, Riverside, CA Transfer Station: Transfer Driver. The Transfer Driver transfers trash, recyclables, and other commodities between the transfer stations and the landfills.

Requirements

Valid Class "A" California Commercial Driver’s License with no air brake restrictions.
Clean driving record.
Ability to communicate in English and have the ability to understand and complete VCRs and log sheets.
Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions pertaining to assigned vehicles.
Ability to follow instructions.
Professional driving experience of no less than one year is required.
Ability to operate a truck.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods at a time.
Ability to stoop, bend, climb, and lift.
Visual depth perception.
Must have and use the company-required safety equipment that will make his/her duties safe.

Responsibilities

Drive transfer trucks to various facilities delivering a variety of commodities.
Complete pre and post-trip inspections.
Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle at all times.
Drive in a safe manner considering road conditions at all times.
Be able to adhere to strict delivery schedules.
Be able to maneuver the truck in tight areas and uneven terrain.
Maintain transportation and maintenance log as required.
Perform required runs in an organized and effective manner.
Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle at all times.
Obey all traffic laws and regulations and drive in a safe manner in accordance with weather conditions.
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
