Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED, required
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) successfully completed within 18 months of employment. Certification must be maintained while employed.
  • One to two years of direct clinical experience in Emergency Department/Critical Care Unit (such as Critical Care Tech EMT-B etc.), or one to two years of full time direct administrative healthcare experience (such as Nursing Unit Secretary or Patient Access Representative) or one to two years Transfer Center experience.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, excellent computer skills, customer service, ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates all processes, support, communication and documentation involved in transferring patients rom one facility to another facility, as well as support physician consults.
  • Recognize and uphold all regulatory requirements, while simultaneously updating key stakeholders of timelines.
  • Accurately enters all required data into EPIC database.
  • Coordinates with Flight for Life for patient transports.
