About The Position

Responsible for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the transfer car. This role requires the ability to safely deliver stock to machines on time, maintain organized storage areas, and accurately complete necessary paperwork and computer entries. The operator will maximize equipment utilization and adhere to the daily production schedule, making recommendations for optimization. Compliance with all company policies, including safety and housekeeping, is essential. Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

Must be qualified to properly operate the transfer car.
Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.
Able to apply concepts of high school math.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
Working knowledge of product layouts and production specifications.
Working knowledge of product quality specifications.
Working knowledge of quality standards.
Required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
Prior work experience as a forklift operator.

Responsibilities

Operation and care of transfer car in a safe manner.
Complete and document a transfer car inspection form before start of shift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on time.
Maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas.
Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
Maintain accurate location of stock in storage area by paperwork and computer.
Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
Adheres to daily production schedule.
Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery and service goals.
Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner.
Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
