Under the supervision of the Director of Health Information Management/Medical Records, the Transcription Coordinator transcribes medical data from recorded dictation. This position audits, sorts, and files copies of transcribed reports. The Transcription Coordinator may perform other clerical duties to include chart assembly and analysis, indexing, correspondence, filing, stamping outgoing mail, physician notification of delinquent records, and compilation of statistics. Requirements

  • High school graduate with at least one year of medical transcription experience.
  • Typing skill of at least 60 words per minute.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Dexterity and hearing ability to use medical transcription equipment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal actions.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to perform under stress in a productive, independent manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Psychiatric experience preferred.
