About The Position

The Transcon Agent is responsible for the timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service and constantly driving efficiency. This role supports the company's Vision and Mission Statement, ensuring the promise to all customers is fulfilled. They specialize in international trade solutions, including air and ocean freight consolidation, customs brokerage, cargo insurance, time-defined transportation, order and risk management, warehousing, distribution, and customized logistics solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in foreign trade, preferred or equivalent convention of education and experience.
  • Experience in the logistic field or domestic transportation, preferred.
  • Hazardous Materials Certification (HAZMAT), preferred.
  • Global logistics Industry Knowledge.
  • Customer Satisfaction oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels (written and oral communication).
  • Time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-driven personality.
  • Good computer skills, and ability to learn new programs and tools including knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
  • English and Spanish fluency.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor key metrics to achieve expected results in Operational Effectiveness, including Product OPA Audit Result, 100% approved Service Providers, and 100% PU&D Connectivity.
  • Exemplify and teach company culture, mission, and goals.
  • Follow the 10 Critical Success Factors.
  • Contribute to building healthy cross-functional relationships and a positive work environment, promoting team spirit and cohesiveness.
  • Complete 52 hours of training per year (4.33 per month) and required training timely.
  • Own self-development, preparing, following up, and executing personal development goals.
  • Comply with company controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Properly use Expeditor systems and tools, such as CFIT, ETMS, CRM, ECCO, EDOC.
  • Meet KPI Standards (RDL, DLV, POD) in accordance with Company Procedures (OPS).
  • Maintain the highest compliance levels for all applicable Transcon requirements.
  • Contribute to operational effectiveness and comply with District Excellence metrics applicable to the process.
  • Log files correctly and timely with proper codes, trace types, and events.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing of customers and vendors.
  • Understand and comply with Customer SOP expectations.
  • Ensure all correspondence is handled timely and professionally.
  • Participate in daily huddle meetings and Supervisor meetings when needed.
  • Escalate issues to Lead, Supervisor, or Operations Manager as needed.
  • Comply with all company policies, including the credit policy.
  • Ensure all files processed are timely and correctly billed.
  • Constantly work on preventing monetary losses.
  • Immediately report any unsafe condition or incident to the Branch Security Health and Safety representative.
