About The Position

This is a long-term platform role for an experienced Transactional Paralegal / Legal Assistant in Colorado Springs, CO. The firm is adding to its numbers and is looking for a paralegal who wants to settle in, learn the client base, and grow with the practice. The role involves assisting attorneys with transactional matters across real estate, business, estate planning, and land use. You will be expected to manage deadlines, maintain up-to-date files, and work with attorneys to anticipate the next step and keep files moving forward. The pace is steady and the variety is real: a residential closing, a title objection, an entity formation, and a due diligence request can all land in the same week. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., in office, with overtime as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of hands-on paralegal or legal assistant experience.
  • Substantial experience with commercial and residential real estate transactions from purchase and sale agreement to closing, including real estate commission forms and contracts and title review.
  • Substantial experience with corporate governance, business transactions, commercial contracts, and acquisitions and divestitures, including due diligence and closings.
  • Substantial experience providing legal assistance and administrative support to multiple attorneys.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Word and PDF software.
  • Excellent references.
  • Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills, plus strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, sound reasoning, and confident day-to-day decision making.
  • Ability to work with little supervision, adapt as priorities shift, apply the general legal rules of ethical behavior, and carry yourself with consistent professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial and residential real estate transactions from purchase and sale agreement through closing, tracking deadlines and maintaining closing checklists.
  • Prepare and process real estate commission forms, contracts, amendments, and closing documents.
  • Order, review, and summarize title commitments, exception documents, and surveys, and work with attorneys to clear title objections.
  • Draft and assemble corporate governance documents, including formation filings, operating agreements, bylaws, resolutions, consents, and annual reports.
  • Support business transactions, commercial contracts, and acquisitions and divestitures, including due diligence collection and review, closing checklists, and closing binders.
  • Maintain entity records and Secretary of State filings across a portfolio of client entities.
  • Assist with estate planning matters, including document assembly, recording, and filings with local jurisdictions.
  • Provide legal and administrative support to multiple attorneys at once, managing competing deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • Communicate directly with clients, title companies, lenders, brokers, and opposing counsel throughout a transaction.
  • Maintain accurate files, calendars, and time records consistent with firm standards and the general rules of legal ethics.
