About The Position

Scott Insurance is seeking a Transaction Advisory Analyst to join their team in Charlotte, NC. This role involves representing Scott Insurance as a trusted advisor to private equity firms, investors, lenders, and corporate clients. The analyst will support private equity due diligence efforts by conducting comprehensive property & casualty insurance due diligence and risk assessments for prospective acquisitions and portfolio companies. The goal is to help clients identify potential liabilities, assess insurance-related exposures, and make informed investment decisions throughout the transaction lifecycle. This position is initially on-site with the potential to move to a hybrid schedule after training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Insurance, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting private equity transactions and due diligence engagements, with a background in commercial insurance, underwriting, risk management, brokerage, claims analysis, transaction advisory, consulting, or a related field.
  • Active Property & Casualty insurance license, or the ability to obtain licensure within 60 days of employment.
  • Knowledge of commercial property & casualty insurance coverages, risk financing concepts, and underwriting principles.
  • Experience analyzing insurance programs, claims data, and risk exposures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex insurance concepts into actionable business insights.
  • Strong business acumen, attention to detail, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • A consultative, client-focused approach, paired with a curious and investigative mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions or private equity transactions is a plus.
  • Professional designations, or progress toward designations, such as CPCU, ARM, CRM, CIC, CFA, or CPA are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform insurance due diligence for private equity clients undergoing mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions, evaluating risk exposures, insurance programs, claims history, and contractual obligations.
  • Identify potential liabilities, coverage gaps, and insurance-related risks that may impact clients' valuations, future operations, or overall risk profile.
  • Analyze claims data, loss trends, insurance costs, and program structures to quantify clients’ financial risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare client-ready reports, presentations, and recommendations that support informed investment decisions.
  • Partner with investors, attorneys, lenders, accountants, and Scott production team members throughout the due diligence process to gather information, evaluate risk, and support transaction objectives.
  • Support post-transaction risk management strategies, insurance program optimization, and practice growth initiatives for assigned clients.
