About The Position

Scott Insurance is seeking a Transaction Advisory Analyst to serve as a trusted advisor to private equity firms and corporate clients. This role involves providing employee benefits due diligence, risk assessments, and strategic guidance to support private equity due diligence efforts for acquisitions and portfolio companies. The analyst will analyze benefits programs, compliance requirements, and workforce-related risks to deliver insights and recommendations for informed business decisions. This is an on-site position with the potential for a hybrid schedule after training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Employee Benefits, Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in employee benefits consulting, benefits administration, compliance consulting, human resources, underwriting, or a related field.
  • Active Life & Health insurance license, or the ability to obtain licensure within 60 days of employment.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary benefits, and wellness programs.
  • Understanding of employee benefits compliance requirements, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Experience analyzing benefits plans, financial data, vendor relationships, and workforce-related risks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other business analysis tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex employee benefits concepts into actionable business recommendations.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A consultative, client-focused mindset with the ability to build credibility and trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, or due diligence engagements is preferred.
  • Professional designations, or progress toward designations, such as CEBS, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, RHU, or similar certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform employee benefits due diligence for private equity clients undergoing mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions, evaluating health and welfare plans, executive benefits, leave policies, and voluntary benefits offerings.
  • Identify potential liabilities, compliance concerns, contractual obligations, and benefits-related risks that may impact transaction outcomes, future operations, or workforce strategy.
  • Analyze benefits plan costs, contribution strategies, utilization trends, vendor arrangements, and historical performance to assess financial risks and opportunities.
  • Review employee benefits programs for compliance with applicable regulations, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other federal and state requirements.
  • Evaluate opportunities for plan optimization, cost containment, vendor consolidation, and benefits strategy enhancements.
  • Prepare client-ready reports, presentations, and recommendations that clearly communicate findings and support informed business decisions.
  • Partner with investors, attorneys, accountants, lenders, human resources leaders, and Scott production team members throughout the due diligence process to gather information, assess risk, and support transaction objectives.
  • Support post-acquisition integration efforts, including benefits harmonization, vendor transitions, compliance considerations, and employee communication strategies.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging employee benefits risks to provide proactive guidance and consultative support to clients.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of Scott's Employee Benefits Due Diligence practice through thought leadership, process improvement, and client relationship development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
