About The Position

At Seattle Gymnastics Academy, we operate programs under three types of categories: Play, Learn and Compete. Our Compete program is intended for gymnasts who have already experienced and progressed in our Learn (recreational) program, and have shown interest and aptitude to advance to a competitive experience, and have a coach referral. We are looking for qualified coaches to nurture and grow our competitive T&T (Trampoline & Tumbling) program at SGA. You will join a team of other supportive and well-established T&T coaches to help expand the growing popularity of this exciting gymnastics discipline. SGA is committed to an environment that is safe, leads with positive reinforcement, and teaches skills in progressive manner. A successful T&T Coach will have an equal commitment to upholding these standards for our competitive team and all our athletes.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years of age to fulfill all coaching and administrative responsibilities
  • Ability to spot athletes safely and effectively
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships with both youth and adults
  • Enthusiastic about working with youth - previous experience is preferred
  • Experience working in fast-paced, active environments
  • Ability to resolve any conflict or disagreements that may arise
  • Desire to promote a positive learning environment for every child
  • Desire to grow and lead within SGA

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience coaching T&T, or as a high level gymnast is preferred
  • Knowledge of USAG Code of Points, USAG Safety Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Teaching progressive gymnastics classes in our Trampoline and Tumbling (T&T) Program.
  • Creating your own lesson plans and tracking skill development.
  • Follows SGA Mission, Vision and Values
  • Communicates to front desk and marketing regarding programming
  • Continually assess program for success
  • Markets / promotes program internally and externally
  • Works with other site Program Directors on overall gym programming and consistency as well as curriculum development
  • Communicating with SGA parents about their child’s progression in your classes.
  • Participating in our paid training opportunities.
  • Assist in light cleaning and sanitation duties to keep our gyms fresh and ready for the next round of classes
