About The Position

Rocky Top Catering partners with the University of North Carolina to provide buffet-style meals for UNC student-athletes. The Training Table Server helps maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming buffet environment by keeping food stations stocked and service areas presentable, while providing friendly and efficient service. The role is based at Kenan Stadium at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Requirements

• Strong customer service skills and a friendly, positive attitude.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality, especially for early morning shifts.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting while maintaining professionalism.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends based on UNC event schedules.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine physical tasks, including lifting and carrying supplies as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Previous serving, buffet, or hospitality experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor buffet stations during meal service, replenishing food and ensuring it is presented properly.
• Maintain clean, organized, and attractive buffet areas, dining spaces, and service stations.
• Replenish food, plates, utensils, napkins, and other service supplies as needed.
• Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to student-athletes and guests.
• Polish silverware and help prepare and set up dining areas before service.
• Clear used dishes, wipe tables, and maintain dining-area cleanliness.
• Communicate with kitchen staff about low food levels, service needs, and concerns.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including breakdown and resetting of service areas.
• Support additional UNC catering and athletic events, including occasional weekend assignments.
