About The Position

This role manages the front-line training program for production workers within a manufacturing environment. The Training Supervisor supervises operations trainers and is responsible for administering, managing, and facilitating front-line training for new and existing employees. The position involves optimizing a training calendar, leveraging centrally derived training assets, and providing feedback to central training organizations to tailor programs. The role also includes owning the train-the-trainer implementation, holding trainers accountable, facilitating training sessions, monitoring and evaluating training delivery, and performing safety observations and incident investigations. Adherence to the company's Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards is also required.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years of training and facilitation experience
  • Excellent program management skills
  • Knowledge of adult learning and development best practices
  • Ability to adapt to change and thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to quickly and effectively solve complex problems
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, the Alchemy system and LMS
  • Ability to create and present training materials in group settings
  • Work independently
  • Prioritize tasks to create efficiencies
  • Ability to flex hours as needed for off shift training sessions
  • Excellent communication, people and training & development skills

Responsibilities

  • Manages the front-line training program for production workers.
  • Supervises operations trainers within a manufacturing environment.
  • Administers, manages and facilitates front-line training for new and existing employees.
  • Schedules onsite training activities and updates the training calendar.
  • Optimizes scheduling of training programs to deliver continuous efficiencies.
  • Provides feedback to central training organizations (One Learning or Alchemy) to tailor training programs.
  • Monitors and evaluates training program effectiveness in conjunction with Ops leaders.
  • Adds or makes changes to training based on stakeholder feedback.
  • Owns train-the-trainer implementation for on-shift trainers and department training leads, including evaluation and continuous improvement.
  • Holds on-shift trainers and departments training leads accountable for executing front-line training strategy.
  • Facilitates training as appropriate, presenting information using different techniques (lecture, group discussion, role play, OTJ) to facilitate learning across all shifts.
  • Monitors, evaluates, and records training delivery.
  • Performs safety observations/inspections as required.
  • Participates in incident investigations for injuries and near misses.
  • Enforces the use of all required PPE and applicable safety/environmental rules.
  • Responsible for the correction of safety/environmental issues discovered within their area(s).
  • Adheres to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.
