About The Position

JP Logistics & Consulting, LLC (JPLC) is looking for a full-time Training Specialist to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG). This role involves assisting the UTO with training coordination, presentation, and administration. The specialist will be responsible for maintaining training databases, ensuring personnel meet qualifications, and updating training materials. The position is based in Elizabeth City, NC, with a salary of $27.10 per hour and a start date of August 6, 2026. Working hours are typically 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, though variations may occur.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the UTO by performing the function of POC on training, training records, or administration questions.
  • Coordinate training location.
  • Present training.
  • Draft, present, and update training materials, records, and guidance to ensure personnel meet standards and maintain qualifications.
  • Develop and maintain training databases and records for all ALC employees (military, civil service, and contractors as required).
  • Provide updated training records to the Workforce Management Staff (WMS).
  • Review training records systematically to determine personnel qualifications and currency IAW ALCINST 5224.4 for both military and civil service employees.
  • Assist WMS with onboarding new employees by coordinating training data and necessary qualification courses.
  • Monitor training requirements and notify personnel sixty (60) days before any certification, licensing, or training expiration.
  • Schedule classroom training courses and ensure computer-based training is accessible during normal working hours.
  • Maintain training databases and support audit teams with required data.
  • Review and recommend updates to ALCINSTS, syllabi, and standardization check forms in line with Commandant and ALC policies.
  • Schedule training presenters as specified by ALC and recommend additional training topics for approval.
  • Ensure classroom logistics are managed before and after courses.
  • Facilitate and present course material on general ALC and USCG topics when a presenter is unavailable.
  • Maintain records for pilots, aircrews, and employees (military, civilian, and contractor), including maintenance qualifications.
  • Schedule all training requirements IAW Commandant and ALCINSTs, including COMDTINST M3710.1.
  • Receive and transfer personnel training records.
  • Assist the UTO in managing and resolving customer complaints.
  • Conduct an annual review of legal and other requirements to ensure the training curriculum remains current, recommending updates as needed.
