About The Position

The KDC Trainer (Knowledge Daikin Center) is responsible for delivering internal instruction and classroom training for a variety of topics related to employee Skills & Knowledge. This person is also responsible for tasks and projects related to Skills Transfer and Development as determined by their leader. This position is critical to the organization by raising up the employees’ level across a wide variety of skills & knowledge. Individual can research the needs of potential students in an industrial production environment, as it relates to the goals of the department and company objectives. The research is accomplished through analysis of surveys, questionnaires, focus groups, and general discussions with managers and workers. Training courses are developed to meet the needs. The successful individual can budget for supplies and design a detailed class curriculum and schedule. The successful candidate will be able to produce study documents, and classroom worksheets, and successfully pilot the new course prior to a full roll-out. The Trainer can monitor the learning progress of their students and track the effect of training on employee skills in support of company profitability over time, modifying the class as needed to achieve better results.

Requirements

  • Strong presentation skills and demonstrated ability to educate/teach others
  • Familiarity with setting up audio/visual equipment
  • Knowledge of latest Training Technology and ability to stay abreast of latest trends/tools
  • Ability to adapt delivery to re-engage learners that are struggling
  • Shows quick comprehension and understanding of written work in related documents
  • Knows the audience and can speak their language to effectively communicate Skills & Knowledge
  • Ability to analyze group dynamics and interpret if/when trainees are struggling with content
  • Ability to motivate & direct people while training, concurrently researching, and creating additional courses
  • Ability to recommend improvements in curriculum and updates to accommodate latest technology
  • Situational trainer who can coordinate and adjust their own actions in relation to the actions of others
  • Ability to manage and supervise while maintaining a professional personality and demeanor to train others
  • Ability to facilitate large groups in productive dialogue to successfully convey information
  • Has the ability to use multiple approaches when learning or teaching new things
  • Ability to convey Skills & Knowledge training across a wide variety of subjects
  • Knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, as well as public presentations
  • Effective problem-solving/continuous improvement skills—develop new approaches while continually working to improve the program
  • Ability to apply good judgment, strong work ethic, and integrity on the job
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to effectively & timely manage projects
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to develop relationships in a friendly non-competitive environment, collaboration and team building & facilitation skills, excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Ability to be flexible with work hours as training may be held outside of typical business hours
  • 5–7 years of experience as a trainer or instructor, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Advanced MS Office/MS PowerPoint experience required
  • High school education diploma required

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree required unless the candidate has 8 or more years of relevant work experience

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate classroom training schedules and locations
  • Maintain and update employee’s training progress and records
  • Conducts training for a diverse group of employees at various skill levels
  • Responsible for providing a safe working environment for all trainees during training activities
  • Successfully collaborates with Trainers on training materials, handouts, videos, aids, and manuals
  • Generates various reports for management on training progress, courses, schedules, and attendees
  • Consults and/or collaborates with internal customers to determine training needs and identify solutions
  • Periodically evaluates ongoing programs and ensures any recommended changes have been incorporated
  • Advanced preparation of training room: sets up video/audio systems, training supplies, materials, etc.
  • Maintains integrity and fairness with data-driven decisions in employee training and observations
  • Makes lesson plans and determines best instructional methods for conveying subject matter
  • Is results-oriented while managing one’s own time efficiently and the time of others
  • Uses data to identify candidates with the highest success factors for needed positions
  • Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs
  • Delivers training to meet/exceed the Company’s goals and vision to ensure continued development of Skills and Knowledge (Technical Skills, Core Skills, and PDS/Innovation)
  • Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance training capabilities and results
  • Aids Level 1 personnel
