About The Position

The Training Specialist is responsible for managing and monitoring the designed training plan, designing and updating curriculum & learning materials. The incumbent manages audit readiness for the training function, by ensuring data accuracy. The incumbent is responsible to communicate with managers and supervisors to ensure awareness of training events, policies and procedures. This position ensures all training records are accurate, available and maintained.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership and customers
  • BS / BA in business or human resources related field, or equivalent experience
  • Regularly required to stand or sit for long periods.
  • Duties will include long periods of viewing a computer monitor
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
  • Extensive knowledge of training

  • Strong skill in using Office Suite and other data management systems

Responsibilities

  • Manage, monitor and ensure appropriate data storage of training records; including sign-in sheets, Job Instruction Certification logs, Manpower Flexibility Matrixes and New Program training records
  • Ensure that attendance sign-in sheets are completed and submitted for each training session
  • Enter all training sign-in sheets into the system and file hard copies
  • Provide end of month data on Training percentage completed (actual vs plan)
  • Design or update training forms as required
  • Review monthly training plans at the end of each month to inform the KPI report, and to capture training not accomplished during the month that was not part of the plan
  • Manage Annual and Monthly Training Plan process, and ensure accuracy of same
  • Conduct training needs survey on an annual basis, in coordination with Department Managers, to determine what changes to the Annual Training Plans are required
  • Develop / maintain a Course Curriculum
  • Maintain a copy/electronic file of all training materials in English and Chinese
  • Ensure current training materials are available and provide materials to trainers before scheduled training
  • Partner with Plant and department management to achieve 100% attendance for training sessions
  • Recommend / develop process improvement initiatives
  • Collect, analyze and ensure storage of Training Effectiveness data (e.g., Pre and Post test data, course evaluations)
  • Assist Training & Development Manager with training and interfacing with Training Champions, and obtaining training records from same
  • Assist Training & Development Manager with audits and preparing material and documents as needed
  • Assist plants and Departments in finding translators for training, when needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
