About The Position

The Training Specialist provides support, assists in the development of the curriculum, and creates engaging and effective learning experiences. This position will stay up to date with the latest training tools and adult learning theories to support active employee learning experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Training, HR, or related field
  • Knowledge of Microsoft
  • Background in adult education or training
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Experience using e-learning authoring software (Captivate, Articulate, or similar product) is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent planning and time management skills
  • Adequate knowledge of learning management software
  • Knowledge of instructional design theory and adult learning principles
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, tools, and techniques
  • Sound decision making and organizational skills
  • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Consistent attendance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using e-learning authoring software (Captivate, Articulate, or similar product)

Responsibilities

  • Translate requirements into training that will assist employees with their knowledge and prepare them for their next step of their career path.
  • Create and direct structured learning experiences and monitor their results.
  • Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, and videos.
  • Plan, organize, and implement a range of training activities based on company initiatives.
  • Develop a trusting partnership with internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other internal clients to create and implement successful learning programs.
  • Perform tasks such as monitoring costs, scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment and coordinating courses and course work in the LMS.
  • Remain current on adult learning theories, learning tools and training strategies.
  • Provide guidance to employees on learning paths for successful career growth.
  • Demonstrates a good attendance record; is aware of the impact that missing work will have on the customer as well as co-workers.
  • Completes goals/projects on time or ahead of schedule.
  • Responds to work assignments and requests by being cooperative and available.
  • Follows through and meets commitments.
