Our work depends on the Training Specialists joining our team to deliver complex technical and tactical training to sailors enrolled in courses taught at Surface Combat Systems Training Command-Hampton Roads (SCSTC-HR) Norfolk, Virginia.

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of experience as an Navy Electronics Technician as either a maintenance techician supervisor or operator supervisor with responsibility of teaching exterior communications equipment to others in a journeyman level training environment.
  • Of the seven (7) years, one (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems is required.
  • Technical experience as a Navy NEC coded UHF technician a significant plus.
  • Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing.
  • SECRET security clearance
  • Excellent communication skills and experience as a Navy instructor (NEC 805A/9502)
  • US Citizenship Required

Responsibilities

  • Develops, organizes, and conducts training and educational programs for customer personnel
  • Utilizes exceptional customer skills to conduct traditional classroom instruction and support technical and laboratory training supporting Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) and other supporting XCOM systems
  • Work as a team member to identify learning gaps and train student Electronic Technicans in the knowledge and skills required to operate and repair U.S. Navy exterior communication systems.
  • Work as a team member to complete customer deadlines which may have competing/shifting priorities
  • Provide subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development for SCSTC-HR courses supporting exterior communication systems
  • Conduct dynamic assessment of the sailors’ abilities to supervise preventive, corrective, and unscheduled maintenance of exterior communications equipment and components, including the use of applicable technical reference material
