About The Position

The Training Specialist/ Instructor is responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training programs for CompHub end-users. This role ensures users across diverse stakeholder groups are effectively trained to navigate workflows, processes, and system functionally. As a Training Specialist/ Instructor, you will develop and deliver engaging training programs for Commission staff, claimants, attorneys, employers, insurers, and medical providers. You will create instructional materials including e-learning modules, user guides, and video-based content. You will conduct both in-person and virtual training sessions for diverse audiences, assess training effectiveness, and continuously improve learning experiences. You will collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content aligns with workers’ compensation processes and CompHub workflows. You will design training programs tailored to users with varying technical proficiency levels, develop training materials for claim intake workflows, FROI submissions, hearing scheduling, document management, and portal navigation. You will maintain and publish training resources via SharePoint Online and other platforms, incorporate system updates and release changes into training using Azure DevOps documentation, and conduct training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and deliver targeted solutions. These responsibilities are not meant to be all-inclusive; additional tasks may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in technical training or instructional design
  • 3+ years of experience developing e-learning content
  • 2+ years of experience delivering training for workers’ compensation, insurance, state government claims, or regulated case management systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with learning management systems and e-learning tools

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM)
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and training best practices
  • Experience creating video-based training content
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Familiarity with Maryland worker’s compensation processes and regulatory environment
  • Experience supporting diverse user populations including legal, medical, insurance, and government professionals
  • Knowledge of SharePoint Online for content distribution and training resource management
  • Basic understanding of software development processes and Azure DevOps documentation
  • Strong presentation, communication, and public speaking skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new technologies
