About The Position

The Revenue Cycle Training Specialist will be responsible for the onboarding process for the division, related to education on all relevant policies, procedures, and systems within the division. This position works in conjunction with each new team member's leader to determine readiness to work independently. As needed, this position will provide one to one mentoring to team members within the division related to appropriate processes, procedures, and systems. He/she creates and maintains training program, class curriculums, training materials and job aids. This position works directly with the Revenue Cycle Trainers to execute said curriculum in the classroom environment. This position travels to all BHC locations and be versed in all systems related to the revenue cycle, in both the professional and institutional settings. This position develops and manages the competency skill checks for CPFS team members. The Revenue Cycle Training Specialist I is responsible for application implementation of a patient management system which requires engagement with all areas of hospital operations with extensive coordination with project team members and hospital leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or five years of related experience maybe considered in lieu of degree
  • 2 years relevant healthcare revenue cycle experience (patient access, financial assistance, insurance billing, patient and/or insurance collections, reimbursement, customer service, payer contracting, or coding)
  • Required experience as a trainer of revenue cycle

Responsibilities

  • Trains all new CPFS/CPAS team members on all systems needed to complete their job function, for both the professional and hospital settings.
  • Develops, maintains, and executes the yearly competency skill checks to CPFS/CPAS team members, in the settings with the scope of responsibility of the division.
  • Complete EHR upgrade testing in conjunction with Information Technology staff, as needed.
  • Collaborates with division operational leaders, creates detailed operational workflows, identify and create mitigation plans for operational gaps.
  • Responsible for developing a training curriculum and maintain consistently, for the revenue cycle scope of ambulatory and acute settings.
  • Responsible for utilizing STARS and QA system feedback to determine action plans and respond appropriately.
  • Works with leadership of division will communicate regulation changes to team members as well as needed actions to achieve compliance.
  • Collaborates with division leaders to meet training goals within the division and implements operational changes to enhance effectiveness.
  • Responsible for application implementation of a patient management system which requires engagement with all areas of hospital operations with extensive coordination with project team members and hospital leadership.
  • Effectively conduct project and business activities utilizing tools such as corporate email, telephone, WebEx and Webinar.
  • Create and execute effective documentation.
  • Create, follow and execute project management principles.
